In the energy field, thermal spraying and overlay welding are applied to prevent damage to the furnace evaporation tubes in commercial power generation facilities.

The cause of damage includes corrosion and erosion wear under high temperature conditions depending on fuel and furnace atmosphere.

As a specific example, the factors of water tube damage are as follows.

・In coal-fired boilers such as thermal power plants, the water tubes are damaged by the promotion of high-temperature sulfidation corrosion due to low

oxygen combustion operation and the wear caused by high-pressure steam injection from wall blower.

・In heavy oil-fired boilers such as chemical plants, the water tubes are damaged by generation of corrosion due to sulfur etc.

・In a garbage incinerator, the water tubes are damaged by generation of corrosion due to chloride component contained in the waste.

For the purpose of protecting these water tubes etc., we conduct thermal spraying (alloys, cermet materials, etc.) and overlay welding

(Ni-based alloys) to extend the life of the equipment.

In recent years, wind power generation is attracting attention as decarbonization. We are able to repair the damage to the motor shaft

by using thermal spraying and overlay welding.
